Book Your Montana Cattle Drive Vacation Today!
Ranching is in our blood. Our Ranch’s beginning reaches back to 1898 when the Phelps family built their first homestead. Many years of homesteading and several families later Joe and Iris purchased the Dryhead Ranch in 1989. Joe had played and worked on the Dryhead Ranch from the time he was twelve and fulfilled a childhood dream when he was able to purchase it. Four generations later we are still carrying on the cowboy traditions. Learn about the rich history, accommodations and dining, and location of our authentic Montana guest ranch.
Join us for a ranch week, horse drive, or cattle drive! Weeklong guest ranch vacations include, home-cooked meals, a private room with semi-private bathroom in our bunkhouse, trained cow horses, tack and saddle, riding instructions, and cattle to work on 33,000+ acres of Montana’s breathtaking country.
Dryhead Ranch has been raising registered American Quarter Horses for over 40 years. We gather our mares only a few times a year, and we’re proud to say that our foals hit the ground in big, rough country, without human intervention. Check out the for sale page for our latest colts and fillies available to the public.
